Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Amongst the most popular cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are utilized to make everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to skyscrapers and buildings.
There is a huge range of crane units, styles and sizes available on the market. There are lots of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different purposes in the industry. Choosing the best type of crane is vital for making sure that the material can be safely and efficiently moved to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to start.
Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really useful for building locations where a crane is required in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane is capable of being driven easily from one location to another.
In addition, the cranes are able to be transported to different construction locations on the road as they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly reduces transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Hence, in order to fix this problem, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature big tracks on the bottom of the crane. These huge tracks are like the ones seen on other construction machinery such as bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction locations.
